Description

Jenkins knows how to bring stories to life.  His research is strong and accurate.  In I, Saul, Jenkins helps us to catch a glimpse into what Paul’s life might have been like.  I very much enjoyed this book because the historical facts from the Bible are complete, but he fictionalizes the story by presenting Paul as a boy, young man, and an older man now in prison.  And of course, there is some suspense throughout.  Paul’s life must have been suspenseful because he was preaching a gospel contrary to that of the Roman government and the Jewish Pharisees and leaders.

From the Publisher:
A modern-day Biblical scholar finds himself in a deadly race to locate the ancient parchments written by Saul of Tarsus before they are seized by nefarious antiquities thieves.

CONTENT
Told from the point of view of the disciple Luke, the apostle Paul and “Augie,” a modern-day scholar, I, Saul, is a fast-paced story of intrigue and mystery. Readers will be reminded of “Indiana Jones”as they become absorbed in this page-turner by a master storyteller. Along the way they will learn of the fictionalized but plausible story of the life of Saul who relentlessly persecuted Christ’s followers prior to his conversion when he became known as Paul.
